What is EMDR Therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of therapy designed to help individuals recover from the symptoms and emotional turmoil stemming from distressing life events. EMDR therapy can provide psychotherapy benefits that traditionally took years to achieve. Contrary to the that deep emotional pain requires extensive time to heal, EMDR illustrates that the mind can recover from psychological similarly to how the body heals from physical injuries.

Just as the body works to close a wound, the brain's information processing system seeks mental wellness; whened by a traumatic event, emotional wounds can intensify, but healing can resume once the block is addressed. I am a Trained clinician and I utilize specific EMDR protocols to assist patients in activating their inherent healing processes.
